What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally appreciate the Eco-Earth Globe as a unique and colorful art installation on Salem's waterfront. The surrounding park offers pleasant walking trails and is a great spot for events, though some note inconsistencies in the mosaic's artistic representation and occasional issues with park upkeep in certain areas.
"I love coming to this park and seeing the globe. Funny fact it used to be a Giant floating acid ball on the Willamette. Very cool that it was repurposed into such a beautiful art installation. There are lots of trails that go all over the waterfront. Really cool place to come visit. If you get lucky they could be doing an event with music. Sometimes there's food in the parking lot as well. Overall excellent spot"

"This used to be the dead end at the edge of the park. It was also unfenced. However, with the adding of the bridge to Minto Brown Park and the new amphitheater and the other improvements such as the viewing areas have been wonderful improvements. This is an awesome place for concerts, plays, and other events."

"This is a very unique art project that brings a bit of personality and life to Salem’s waterfront park! It’s fun to look at all the different mosaic pictures on the globe, although I would say that Oceania is definitely lacking in terms of geographic locations, and the imagery chosen to depict the whole of Africa is not that creative (typical African masks indicative of White Man’s diluted perception of Africa, and close to nothing that represents the amazing and diverse natural landscapes). The same could be said for the depiction of South America as well, which appears to be mainly centered around the Amazon rainforest and not much else. Just a few of my observations although I’m still delighted by the piece overall! 🌎🌍🌏"
