"Amazing Sandscape Adventure at Oregon Dunes NRA (Florence, OR)

The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area near Florence is an absolute stunner with endless wind-sculpted sand dunes that roll seamlessly into forest, lakes, and the ocean. A perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty!
Eclectic landscapes—sand, sea, forest, and lakes all in one massive playground.

Towering dunes (up to ~500 ft) great for hiking, sandboarding, or OHV rides.

Unfortunately the weather was not on our side when we visited and it was very cold, windy and foggy but it was still an amazing experience

Tips:
-Bring layers and sun protection sand reflects sunlight hard!
-Check trail or dune activity maps; some areas are seasonal wildlife zones.
-Start early to beat wind and heat, especially if you plan to climb dunes."

"Great Day adventure. Be warned state police have a station in this park and they are everywhere, including on 4-wheelers and in buggies. Very clean. Plenty of bathrooms. Places to clean your catch nearby or shuck some oysters if you find yourself wandering on the beach across the street. We look forward to another adventure at the dunes."

Diane E

"Hauntingly beautiful. I highly recommend renting dune buggies and taking a jaunt - but be careful not to get lost. The place is like being in another world. It's amazing."
