Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center to be a large venue capable of hosting diverse events, from rodeos and concerts to expos. While many appreciate the facilities and the excitement of events like the fair and music festivals, some caution about high prices for food and rides, as well as potential crowding and parking issues during peak times.
"Huge property, Alot bigger than other venue i have been to. Festival camping is too Packed in in my opinion. Security/Venus Employee had been wonderful, We will be back for another Show in the near future just without camping. Reggae rise up was absolutely amazing. Would recommend"

"Nice facility for a horse show! Grounds are clean and well manicured. Stall barns are nice, except the open air barns are full of Starlings and covered in bird crap. The main arena is nicely set up, and the stadium seating is nice. Plenty of trailer and vehicle parking close to the barns. Cool, little pond and stream water feature out front."
Chris Jewell
"Returning for the 3d year at Cascade Equinox Festival did not disappoint. Had a blast networking while spending a week at a Beautiful Venue. Nothing better than watching real musical performances with the Majestic Cascades in the background. The lush grass for the feet to flow over with an amazing tranquil water feature to create unique spaces and add tranquility!!"

Event Variety at the Expo Center

These events provide opportunities for businesses to connect with the public and showcase their products and services. The venue's adaptability allows it to accommodate large crowds and diverse setups, from concert stages and rodeo arenas to exhibition booths and horse stalls. Planning your visit around the specific event you're interested in is key to maximizing your experience, as schedules and offerings vary significantly.
Navigating Crowds and Costs
To mitigate these challenges, arriving early is frequently recommended. This can help secure better parking and reduce wait times for attractions and food vendors. For festivals, consider researching parking fees and camping arrangements in advance, as these can change year to year. While the rodeo is often highlighted as a great experience, the overall value of ride wristbands has been questioned by some visitors. Being prepared for these aspects can help manage expectations and ensure a more enjoyable visit to the Redmond fairgrounds.
Equestrian Events and Facilities
However, there are some considerations for those involved in or attending horse shows. While the main facilities are good, the open-air barns have been noted to be problematic, often being full of starlings and covered in bird droppings. This is a detail that horse owners and participants might want to be aware of when planning for events held in these specific areas. Despite this, the venue's overall suitability for equestrian activities is evident from the regular hosting of such events.
