What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tuckahoe State Park is praised as an underutilized, quiet gem offering a peaceful escape with abundant nature. Visitors appreciate the serene environment, wildlife sightings, and the beauty of Adkins Arboretum. While amenities are basic, the tranquility and natural beauty make it a highly recommended destination for a relaxing outdoor experience.
"First of all, let me say I have no idea why Maryland state parks are so under used. They are extremely quiet and seem to have very low visitation whenever I have stayed. Tuckahoe Park is no different than my previous stays at other Maryland Parks there seems to be absolutely no one there. We stayed at the Dogwood cabin within the campground here. It is what you expect of a kit Cabin a pretty basic mattress on each of the bunkbeds and the main double bed. The campsite was clean and orderly and overall very, very nice. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. If you haven’t stayed in a Maryland state park and you can get around that reservation system they are hidden gems."

"There's lots of nature. There are rows of turtles drying their shells, lots of birds, and flowers and greenery blooming along the water's edge. I went to the office and rented a kayak. I went to the designated spot, unlocked the door, and moved it to the water's edge myself. Be careful when moving it, as there are lots of goose droppings on the ground lol. I opened a locked shed nearby and looked for my size safety vest."

"Went fishing with my family here and it was a beautiful day with lots of beautiful scenery. Didn't catch any fish, but the quality family time was great."
