I rarely post a single piece of art here, but sometimes I gotta. This is Plexus no. 29 from Gabriel Dawe (@gabrieldawe), at the BYU Museum of Art in Provo. It's larger than expected. It has real volume to it. It's strings, but they don't feel like strings so much as a tangible light. The video can't quite do it justice. But go, get a look, be surrounded by the color. #sidewalkjoy #wandering #lit...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the BYU Museum of Art as a peaceful, inspiring, and free cultural gem. The diverse exhibits, from classical to contemporary, are a major highlight, with installations like Gabriel Dawe's 'Plexus' and depictions of Christ being particularly memorable. While the cafe's closure was a disappointment for some, the overall experience is highly recommended for its calming atmosphere and engaging content, making it a must-visit in Provo.

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🔥
One of my favorite places in Provo. The BYU Museum of Art is honestly a peaceful and inspiring space, and every time I visit, I leave feeling recharged. The exhibits are always a great mix—some classic, some bold and modern, and some that really make you stop and think. The lighting and color exhibit in the main entry is stunning, and everything is displayed in a way that feels intentional and calming.

Some highlights from my recent visit: the iconic LOVE sculpture, the powerful “Christ Healing the Sick at Bethesda” painting, and the playful (and kind of thought-provoking) “China-McDonald” piece. The whole place has this quiet energy that’s both creative and reverent.

Whether you’re into art or just need a beautiful place to slow down for a bit, MOA is a gem. And it’s free, which makes it even better."

"We loved the guest exhibition. The whole museum is wonderfully done barring the color on the walls in the soul exhibition downstairs, it made the informational plaques hard to read. I loved the diversity, there are many materials and subject matter to give lots of choices for different people. I can hardly wait to see the two new exhibits they are constructing. My teenage son recommended the museum so that is saying something. They have family activities to go along with the art. The cafe was closed, that was disappointing. It took us around 3 hours to go through it. It is free so great family cultural activity."

"My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this museum. The pictures of Christ were our favorites, but their pop culture exhibit was fun too. It's not crowded either people-wise or art-wise which makes for a calming experience. Their gift shop is cute and has lots to choose from but feels a little bit cramped. I would highly recommend visiting. Especially since it's free!"
