"It's back in there, little dusty an a fair amount of side by sides ripping the 15mph gravel road like it's the Baja 1000. 4th July wknd was busy!!! Not ideal to fish the lake and enjoy the quite trees vs the city. Amazing sites an camping was nice. Will be back but not on a holiday wknd."

"We camped in the bear canyon lake area for 4 days. There were many very large camping areas. But, when we tried to get to the lake to fish, there was no way to access it. Unless you were a goat. So called paths down a cliff we’re gone. We tried driving around lake but no access that we could find. Decided to just hike around the area of our site and there was so much trash it made us angry. The beautiful area was disgusting. Friday afternoon the weekend campers came in being very inconsiderate of others. Blasting music and riding ALL night long. We left… So if you want peace and quiet don’t go on weekends."

Despite potential access issues, many still enjoy the fishing opportunities. It's advisable to scout out potential fishing spots upon arrival or be prepared to hike a bit to find a good vantage point. Checking recent local fishing reports might also provide insights into current conditions and access points.
