What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Shell Island's pristine beauty and the affordability of the shuttle service, often highlighting dolphin sightings and excellent snorkeling. Some find the shuttle check-in process a bit confusing and note the long walk to certain shell-finding areas. Overall, it's considered a must-do for its natural charm and value.
"This is actually better than doing a private boat rental. You can take this shuttle, see dolphins along the way and get to Shell island to snorkel in calm water or a short walk to the crystal clear waters on the Gulf side. The shuttle with Captain Jenkins and Hailey was fast & efficient. We regretted doing a private boat tour the previous day because this was actually better and hundreds of dollars cheaper!"

"Shell Island was beautiful and our Captain and his mate were great! We saw dolphins on the way out, they handled the boat with ease, and they were informative about where to go. The folks at the dock, while helpful, probably get a million questions a day about where the shuttle folk are supposed to go (they are the Adventure people) so maybe some better signs or at least instructions would be great. Also, the “bathrooms” at the dock are behind the Adventure kiosk. There’s also a restaurant there which makes getting to the shuttle stop a little tight. The actual check in for the shuttle is in one of the little tiki huts BEHIND the restaurant on the dock.
The island was beautiful and we found some good shells, but the snorkeling was amazing."

"Great way to get to the island. Price is about $24 for the ticket (round-trip). If you plan to snorkeling on the island and rent their gear, they give you a mask with a snorkel attached (no fins) and a weighted flag to use while snorkeling.
There is about a 30 - 45 minute wait between shuttles, with plenty of seating while you wait."
