We were very happy to have rain boots in December. It was a white Christmas at the beach. I found some good shells in the dunes. Make sure and bring some food and drinks. We even brought the backpack chairs w lunch."

"If you want to find good shall . Don’t go to shell iland. Go to the park and you will find more pluse you don’t have to pay someone $225 to take you over there for 2 hr we paid $225 and he told us if we was not there at 5 he would leave us . Now $225 you should stay and wait but I made dang gone sure we was there at 445 . So don’t pay $225 for 4 people just not to find anything good it not worth the money go to the park and you will see walk the beach ."

Enjoy a relaxing visit and you may meet a new friend or two ... including manatees, turtles, dolphins and other sea animals. The island does not have restrooms or restaurants, so make sure you bring water and snacks or pack a picnic. Spend the day hunting for shark's teeth (Google how), swimming and relaxing.
