What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally praise State Park Marinas for their beautiful lake views, peaceful atmosphere, and the variety of water activities available, especially boat rentals. The cleanliness of the parks and the helpfulness of staff are frequently highlighted positives. Some minor issues like thermostat control and occasional dirty ice buckets were noted, but overall experiences are overwhelmingly positive.
"Overall it was a decent resort. The garden area was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful! Had a few kinks with our key working when we first got there, and the super nice maintenance guy came up and was super friendly and helpful. Everyone who worked at the lodge was super nice! The rooms were pretty decent. I loved the views. It was a great experience. My only complaint would actually be I couldn't get my thermostat down past a certain degree and slept a little warm. And I heard others complain about it as well. I hope that is fixed in the future. I knocked a star down for that reason and for my ice bucket being dirty."

"John was AMAZING. He was knowledge about the boats, which rental fit our needs, and provided a small boat lesson before we took off. As newer boaters we felt confident and safe after working with John. He provided cove recommendations and he was also available via phone if we ran into any issues. We plan on renting from Grand Glaize Marina again next summer."

Exploring by Boat: Rentals and Tips
When you pick up your rental, take advantage of any briefing or orientation offered by the marina staff. As one reviewer noted, a knowledgeable staff member like 'John' provided a 'small boat lesson' that made them feel 'confident and safe.' This is crucial for newer boaters. Ask for recommendations on good coves for swimming or fishing, and inquire about any potential hazards or no-wake zones. Having a contact number for the marina in case of issues is also a smart precaution.
Remember to consider the weather forecast before heading out. Calm waters are ideal for a relaxing experience, and many visitors find early mornings to be the best time for this. Always prioritize safety, wear a life jacket when required, and be aware of your surroundings. Enjoy the freedom of exploring the lake at your own pace!
