"Lived here for over 20 years and didn’t know about this place! There is a tunnel to walk under RT 28 if you don’t want to park your car in the little lot. Don’t go if it’s muddy or icy. Map there to guide you. Takes you down to C&O path. Poster tells you what parts are paved and what parts are gravel. Make sure you bring bug spray, water, phone, first aid. Didn’t get all the way but will try again this year."
Debbie Kostyo
"I hike with my dog 2-3x/week here because it’s close to us. Very convenient although parking can he tight. It’s a balanced trail: It’s narrow in the beginning but once it opens up it’s very nice. By the creek it’s flat and then you can make the climb up to the wider, slightly more challenging trail.
We mostly go in the mornings because that’s the least busiest. It can get busy in the evenings with hikers, bikers, and other people walking dogs.
Definitely recommend this trail if you haven’t been!"
