"A beautiful stop on a bike ride along the Hocking River Valley."

"Great quiet place. Before the Nelsonville bypass, it was a busy place. History is posted about the canal at the site. There is grills, picnic tables, and plenty of grass. The fresh water well and restrooms were removed, so there is NO sanitation there, that is the reason I only have it 4 stars instead of 5."

"I followed GPS to get here, and it had us at a place about 1.5 miles down the RR tracks from the actual canal! If you put in the coordinates from the county website, I would suggest driving until you see the actual sign. It is, of course rather overgrown, but I just like to meander and see these kinds of things."
