What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Harbour Pointe Golf Club offers a challenging layout and breathtaking views, particularly from Hole 11, making it a memorable experience for many. However, some visitors find the course condition and high green fees don't always align, with mixed reviews on maintenance and pace of play. The friendly staff and clubhouse amenities are generally well-regarded.
"Positives - nice clubhouse, friendly staff good practice facility (though not many covered mats for when it’s raining).
Negatives - not even close to worth the cost. Course is poorly maintained especially for $120+ weekend round (walking). Tons of bare spots and weeds. The Nile, which costs under $50 to walk is maintained much better and has better greens."
Daniel Merrick
"The course was in okay shape but lots of dry spots in the fairways. Greens were very slow. The biggest issue was pace of play. After 5 holes we got backed up and never recovered. There was no enforcement and by the turn we were 3 holes behind pace. I will not be back any time soon, which is a shame because I live so close."
Brendan Mhyre
"Like others have said this is a course that I really want to like, but for the cost and condition it can't compare with other area courses. It's a bummer as I live only 15 minutes away in Edmonds. The layout itself is interesting and challenging. Greens are smooth and consistent. Fairwairs are in decent shape. But the problems outweigh the good. First off it cost me $151 dollars to play 18 holes on a Tuesday with a cart and a small bucket of balls! A ridiculous amount for a what amounts to a decent muni. The cart paths are an absolute mess. Might as well just drive down the fairways. And the carts themselves are largely ready for the junk yard. Stinky gas motors that half the time barely start. Our first cart pretty much quit after eight holes and the second one was'nt much better. I don't mind spending $120 for green fees to play a nice course. I'll head to Suncadia for that experience. In the meantime I suggest you play Mt.Shuksan, Battle Creek or Lake Padden for a third the cost. All of which are every bit as fun and intersting as Harbour."

Navigating the Course: Layout and Challenges
While the fairways can sometimes be a point of contention regarding their condition, the greens are frequently praised for being smooth, consistent, and true. This means that even if the fairways aren't perfect, your putting game can still be tested on well-kept greens. The overall difficulty is often rated high, making it a rewarding experience for those who enjoy a strategic round.
Key takeaway: Come prepared for a course that demands your attention. Focus on accuracy and strategy, and you'll likely enjoy the challenge. The beautiful scenery, especially on Hole 11, adds another layer of enjoyment to the round.
The Value Proposition: Cost vs. Condition
However, it's important to balance this with what you get. The stunning views, particularly from Hole 11, and the challenging layout are significant draws. Some reviewers acknowledge that while the condition might not always match the price tag, the overall experience, including friendly staff and a nice clubhouse, contributes to its appeal.
Recommendation: If you're considering Harbour Pointe, research current rates and look for weekday specials or twilight rounds. If pristine course conditions are your absolute top priority for the price, you might explore other options. But if you value scenic beauty and a good test of golf, it can still be a worthwhile experience.
