What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Soaring Eagle Waterpark offers a cozy, well-maintained indoor waterpark experience, particularly praised for its autism-friendly initiatives. While some guests find the hotel rooms to be a good value, others have noted comfort issues and, in rare but significant cases, pest problems. The waterpark itself is generally enjoyed by families, though height restrictions may limit younger children's access to certain attractions.
"After reading some of the reviews here, I think people need to level set their expectations with the understanding that this isn't Great Wolf Lodge, or Kalahari. It's a small water park, but it appears well maintained. It has the things you would expect at a water park, several slides, a surfing machine which looked pretty cool (I am not coordinated enough to try it), a rock climbing wall with a pool below it to fall into, a lazy river, a regular pool to swim around in, a lazy river, a pretty big hot tub/pool, and those little lilly pad stepping things. Overall very nice, small so it's easier to keep track of little kids. Plenty of lockers for storing stuff, nice tables and chairs to use. They have three cabanas you can rent as well.
The room were okay. They didn't seem dirty. Things appeared to be well maintained at least. I didn't care for the beds or pillows, but that's just a personal preference. I will point out that it is pretty easy to hear the room above you, kids stomping and jumping, doors slamming shut, toilets flushing, etc. Things the hotel really doesn't have control over if we are being honest. The only fix for those kind of things is ripping the hotel down and rebuilding it with better sound isolation.
Takeaways: I would call it a cozy water park, it's hard to lose your kids in there, but it is well maintained and honestly has a lot of stuff packed into a smaller space; the sound isolation is a little lacking, nothing can be done except rebuilding the hotel, the beds were uncomfortable to me, they were harder than I prefer.
Otherwise this was a nice stay, a cozy water park experience. I would go back, maybe just with a mattress topper 😉"

"Where to start, first the room was not a good value for what we got. The pictures made it look much larger than it is. We stayed here for my son's 18th birthday, we thought, from the pictures, that there would be some privacy in this room. Not even close. The kids bed is so rickety and loud i thought it was going to fall apart. It is so loud that any movement woke everyone else in the room up, there was no sleep too be had. At over $300 a night they should at least have a bad that isn't falling apart. The water park was only open on one of the days that we were here, that was super disappointing. We also had to bring our own towels to the water park, that would have been great information to have before going down and getting soaked only to have to walk back to the room freezing and dripping wet. None of the vending machines worked for drinks so we had to leave at mid night to get a water from the gas station. Over all this was an awful experience and I would not recommend anyone stay here."

"Overall the stay was Enjoyable. Our kids had a good time, although it was limited due to the height requirements on water slides, rock wall etc. These things are advertised as " kid friendly" ~ but in reality ages 8- up. We have 2 small children 4,6 , they stayed in the pool most of the time because of the height restrictions, if that be the case , I would have liked the option to go to soaring eagle pool as a option. The other pool on location , is very dated, the jacuzzi didn't seem to work, staff used that back entrance as a private walk through area, not enjoyable when trying to swim.
The arcade was decent, but we spent 60.00 in games,no prizes at that location so I took my kids to soaring eagle to the other arcade, we were able to get prizes for the other 60.00 we spent at that location.
The fire pit at night was only turned on by request and promptly shut off by 11. " I would suggest leaving it on ? " Perhaps get a cover for it if worried about " wind" being a issue.
The Hotel staff was great, accommodating, we provided something to eat each night for the midnight shift, it would have been nice to have some option for food at the hotel after hours.
It's our intention next time to stay at soaring eagle, and to buy day passes to the water park if we decide to go. Over all for 475.00 for the room 160.00 in games we played at arcade a extra 200.00 we spent for food in 2 days. It would be hard to justify going to this location again based on a cost average of 400 a night.
If I could make a recommendation, have some food available, breakfast, light night snacks ? Cookies ? And adjust the arcade so you can receive the same prizes at the gift shop. " Which was closed most of the time during our stay"."

Embracing Inclusion: The Autism Center Difference
This dedication to inclusion is a standout feature, setting Soaring Eagle apart. It's not just about having ramps or accessible restrooms; it's about a proactive approach to understanding and catering to diverse needs. For families traveling with children on the autism spectrum, this certification offers peace of mind and the assurance that their experience is a priority.
Travelers seeking a waterpark that prioritizes a positive and inclusive atmosphere will find Soaring Eagle Waterpark a commendable choice. The commitment to being a Certified Autism Center™ is a significant draw for many visitors looking for a stress-free and enjoyable outing.
Navigating Hotel Stays and Potential Issues
One significant concern raised in reviews involves potential pest issues, specifically 'wood roaches,' which have led to room changes and significant disruption for some guests. While the management has addressed these situations, the experience has been deeply negative for those affected, highlighting the importance of thorough room checks upon arrival.
Despite these potential drawbacks, many guests find the room value acceptable, especially when considering the included waterpark access. The key is to manage expectations, as it's described as a more 'cozy' experience compared to larger, more elaborate waterpark resorts.
Maximizing Your Waterpark Experience
It's important to note that while advertised as 'kid-friendly,' some attractions, like the slides and rock wall, have height restrictions. This means younger children might spend more time in the general pool areas. Families should check these restrictions beforehand to manage expectations. The park also offers lockers for convenience and rentable cabanas for a more private experience.
For those planning a visit, remember to pack your own towels, as this is a common recommendation from past guests. Also, confirm the waterpark's operating hours, as they can vary. While the food court offers convenience, some reviews suggest exploring dining options outside the park or bringing your own snacks if late-night food is a concern.
