"Celebrating our anniversary, we made the trek to Mohegan Sun for a night in the sky tower -being the newest of the two. The not optional valet parking was a very nice perk to the check in protocol. I mentioned that we were returning guests and celebrating and if they had a loyalty upgrade available, it would be very much appreciated. I was told the best they could do was put us on the 23rd. floor with a nice view. We took the rocket ship ride up in the elevator and entered our room. It was clean, but dated. Almost like the real quick ride on the elevator brought us back in time. The television was either a 37” or 40” set and mounted with a tilt -that proved the level was either uncalibrated or missing in action. The “nice view” was looking at HVAC units on the roof of the very large casino floor. If you looked to the left with your face against the window, the Mystic River was in fact visible. The wall to wall carpet turned to tile in the large bathing area, but you are met with a 1980’s tub and cloth shower curtain. With a $300 per night stay (more than a night at the Swan Reserve in FL), a renovation is long overdue."

"I can't rate the rooms because we didn't stay, but the place is absolutely beautiful with lots to do. Plenty of restaurants from pubs, lounges, and speakeasy's, to upscale Asian, Italian and Steak.. The shops were fun and also reached from casual to upscale. The gambling was good, with surprisingly plenty of quarter machines, which are my favorite and getting harder and harder to find. They have a couple of amazing chocolate shops with one small little bar that serves handmade chocolates with paired with specialty drinks. Plus an amazing bakery. A great day capped off with a fabulous dinner at Farm Italy. Definitely going back"
