This is a beautifully kept, modern library, yet reflects libraries of old. The paper Google, all threaded through the sights and stacks of books in true duodecimal fashion. All bursting to take you back to a time when people turned pages with their fingertips....much like a computer mouse....I suppose....hmmm... but that touching of paper is grounding for a soul, right?
This wonderful library, is the best kept secret of Mobile. With its kind, knowledgeable staff, it was easy to navigate the areas of interest.
Woah! Are we in a Blockbuster? So many movies and TV shows cd-roms. Cd-rom audio books a plenty!
I haven't gone online yet to see what I can see. I'm sure it is state of the art technology.
For now I will take my 7 book-stack home and YOU should take a couple of hours and go to this library. It's amazing!🥰
I don't think the library can control this, (maybe post a security guard?) but I would take back half a star for the parking in the rear, as you need to keep your head on a swivel. Quite a few homeless...opps excuse me, unhoused people roaming about. That's scary for two women to traverse out to their car. Because they have like, 10 handicapped parking spots near the rear entrance, we had to park further down and a suspicious individual was milling about and went behind a white van parked way back. 😬
But that was a minor concern and we will be better prepared for it next visit.

I really appreciated that they had materials for those who were homeless, addicted to drugs/alcohol, and may need other services.
