"We spent about 2 hours here, probably could have been longer if we wanted to read all the information and listen to the videos. Very informative. Staff was very friendly and willing to answer questions. Nice little gift shop, that has books, key rings, ornaments, children's toys and more. The Museum is part of the Ohio History Connection, if you have a membership, you get in free, otherwise $10 for adults."

"Very neat place. There is so much history involved. Loved it. Sue, the Tour Guide was so friendly and showed us around, giving us a detailed description of the Fort and stories of Marietta. The Museum displays are very well laid out and informative."

Mayrita Traveler

"Don't be fooled by the quaint surrounding of where the Museum is sitting. When you stop by, plan on no less than an hour and a half to see everything. The number of artifacts and history in Marietta is astounding. There is a small charge for the museum which will be either $5.00 or $10.00. I paid $10.00 and I also got a guide brochure for what I would see. You pay this upon entering and the gift shop is right there as well. Your first leg of the museum is right across from the gift store.

Founded in 1788, this city was the first settlement in the Northwest Territory. The library also gets its name from the fort that was originally built here - Campus Martius. They have a small diorama of the fort for you to view. You will find this in the re-constructed original home of General Rufus Putman within the museum. There are a total of 3 floors of memorabilia for you to see. The bottom floor is mostly the more 'Modern' history while the other 2 deal with the beginning history of the city.

This is a must stop for anyone interest in early American history. This is especially true since this was the launching pad for our move out to the west."
