"Beautiful old 1800s home with lots of antiques. There are 4 or 5 steps to get to the front door. There are lots and lots of steps to get to the 2nd and 3rd floors. There is not an elevator. Lots of walking. There is a gift shop, school room, and other out buildings. We were on the American Heritage Paddle Boat and visited on a Wednesday in mid July 2025. There wasn't a wait to get in."

"If you appreciate history, this was a great tour.
The Henderson family were Jeffersonians who alerted Jefferson as to what Aaron Burr was conspiring against the United States in the Marietta, Ohio region. This family saved everything. All of the furnishings on display have never left the house. The guides were wonderful & explained much history as well as personal stories of the family. You are allowed to explore the grounds which includes a log cabin, school house & remains of a large horse stable."
