"We arrived around 2/3 pm on a Friday, Oct 4th. We were not sure about how their process worked so we actually winged the entire process. When we arrived, we had to go inside to get tickets. Got in line, then we had to scan our tickets for the gate to open, allowing us to get into the gondala. The person handling the ride said 4 - 8 people per gondala. But I've seen couples (2 people) ride in one, depending who's in your group. The ride was less than 10 minutes. When you get off the gondala, the Lutsen Mountains is truly spectacular! The trails offer breathtaking views and a chance to immerse yourself in nature. It is an amazing hike there, especially during the fall when the leaves change color.
While others had a tough time navigating the ticketing process, highly recommend giving this another chance but go on a weekday to enjoy its beauty.
There is free parking, you might find street parking past the building but there is overflow parking that you will go past before arriving to the gondala ride. Bathrooms are located in the building before hopping on the ride. The bathrooms, once you arrive across the mountains, are like portable potty, it actually looks scary."
