What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Platte River State Park for its diverse activities, from challenging mountain bike trails to family-friendly playgrounds and scenic waterfall hikes. The cabin rentals are a popular choice for an immersive stay. However, some reviews mention the need for maintenance on certain horse tack and occasional disappointment with closed areas or less scenic views than expected.
"Came for the trail horseback riding, stayed to explore! This park is an amazing spot for a few hours or a long stay. They have so many activities!
I will say, some of the horses tack could use some maintenance. The safety keepers on bridles and saddles are broken and the tack could use a deep clean. The horses themselves are well cared for. I really enjoyed my ride and Lucky was good to me! He'll feel even better once he gets his front shoes back on, as he was a bit foot sore."

"This place is great for letting kids run off energy. They have a few trails that lead to the waterfall. It makes for a fun adventure. They also recently put in new playground equipment which is fantastic. A treehouse they can climb on and play around in. Unfortunately we went for the splash ground but it was closed for the season due to lightening hitting it. That was a bummer for the kids but going for a paddle pat ride quickly distracted them. This place a little gem."

"This lovely park was a short drive off I-80 west of Omaha. There is plenty to do for all ages. Lots of different playgrounds and wading ponds for children. There are hiking trails, biking trails, archery, fishing, and camping. Paddle boat and kayak rentals are available."
