Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise Lockport Historic District for its vibrant art scene, including numerous murals and free museums, and its charming canal-side atmosphere. The Flight of Five Locks is a historical highlight, and the local eateries and shops add to the appeal. Some find the downtown a bit quiet outside of events, but many appreciate its unique character and artistic flair.
"I love going every year with my girls beautiful set up bright lights and very cozy never packed of people you can actually enjoy taking pictures this year the Santa sofa was there very nice!!!"

"If you like art, you'll love downtown Lockport. Check out the two free art museums within walking distance, and walk down the canal to get to them. (The second art museum is hidden on the top of the Public Landing restaurant.) There is also a small free history museum. Be sure to visit Betsy's Yarn and Tea shop for an assortment of unique items, check out the comic book store down the street, go to the creamery for fresh ice cream and italian ice, see the animals at the pet store, buy a book for $1 from the library's huge for sale section, and don't get me started with the restaurants. They're all really good, but my favorite is Godfathers. It's a bit of a walk down the road but so worth it!
In the Summer they always have a new art theme with the pieces scattered around town. When you find them, the locations give you stickers of that art piece! The murals all over the buildings are also phenomenal.
If you don't like art, then yes, this place would be boring to you. But I've dragged all of my family and friends here and they all love it and make plans to return over and over again."

"Downtown Lockport is fairly boring! There is a good Italian restaurant, a couple other restaurants, a decent bar, and some historic stuff to see but that's about it. There is a new Dunkin Donuts down there where you can grab a cup of coffee and a donut. Library is down there too. Bikers take over the smaller bars in the good weather months. Place is a ghost town most of the time. Wish they would develop it like Naperville has instead of trying to preserve a town that is nearly 200 years old."
