What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Cosmopolitan is celebrated for its stylish rooms, particularly those with terrace balconies offering stunning fountain and Strip views. Guests rave about the unique dining and bar experiences, including hidden speakeasies and the famous Secret Pizza. While the hotel offers a vibrant atmosphere, some visitors find the pool seating limited and check-in lines can be a drawback.
"As a Titanium member, I was upgraded to a suite at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and it made the stay truly special. The suite was stunning — beautifully designed, spacious, and offered a great view of the Strip from the balcony.
The hotel itself has a vibrant, trendy atmosphere with fantastic dining and bar options, plus pools that cater to both relaxation and fun. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the Strip, so everything is within easy reach.
The staff were friendly and professional, making the overall experience smooth and enjoyable despite how busy the property gets. Overall, The Cosmopolitan combines luxury, energy, and convenience, and I’d happily stay again."

"The room was spacious but i felt it could be brighter. The sofa area had only a lamp and the desk, a small low lamp. Was difficult to get work done. Perhaps a ceiling light and/or a standing lamp would help. A kettle and sachets of instant coffee/tea would be nice too. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay. Enjoyed having a balcony. Gym was super and pools were great too."

"We recently stayed at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, booking a King room in the Chelsea Tower, and overall it was a mix of highs and lows.
Let’s start with the positives: the hotel itself is stunning, modern, and has a vibrant atmosphere that feels quintessentially Vegas. Our room in the Chelsea Tower was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with comfortable bedding and great views of the Strip. The selection of restaurants on site is excellent—we tried several and were impressed by the variety and quality of food. On top of that, the casino treated us well, and we were lucky enough to walk away as winners, which always makes the trip feel even better.
However, the elevator situation was a serious downside during our stay. The elevators in the Chelsea Tower were constantly breaking down or out of service, and the wait times were frustrating. On multiple occasions we had to wait anywhere from 10–20 minutes just to catch an elevator, and when one finally arrived, it was often hot, crowded, and uncomfortable inside. For a luxury property like The Cosmopolitan, this was a big disappointment and really hurt the overall experience.
In summary:
Rooms: modern, comfortable, and stylish.
Restaurants & casino: excellent, with plenty of options and a fun atmosphere.
Elevators: a major issue—long waits, overcrowded, and unreliable.
Would I stay again? Possibly, but only if the elevator situation improves. The Cosmopolitan has so much potential and really shines in many areas, but during our visit, the frustration of simply trying to get to and from our room in the Chelsea Tower overshadowed a lot of the positives."

🎫 🎫 Tickets & Entry
To ensure you get a terrace room with a fountain view, it's highly recommended to book directly through The Cosmopolitan's official website or MGM Resorts. While tipping at check-in might offer upgrades, booking the specific room type you want directly is the most reliable method.
Check-in typically starts in the afternoon. Lines can be long, especially on weekends and evenings. While there's no online check-in, guests with Marriott status or certain VIP levels may have access to priority check-in lines.
Upgrades are possible, especially during weekdays or if the hotel isn't at full capacity. Tipping the front desk agent (the '$20 sandwich' is a common tactic) can increase your chances, but it's not guaranteed, particularly for premium suites during busy periods.
Yes, like most Las Vegas hotels, The Cosmopolitan charges a daily resort fee. This fee covers amenities such as Wi-Fi, fitness center access, and local calls. Check the hotel's website for the current resort fee amount.
You must be at least 21 years old to check into a hotel room at The Cosmopolitan, which is standard for all Las Vegas casinos. You will need a valid photo ID.

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Consider booking a Terrace Studio Fountain View room for a comfortable base with a bit of outdoor space. While not explicitly a 'kid-friendly' resort, the central location allows for easy access to family-friendly shows and attractions on the Strip. Remember to check age restrictions for specific venues and pools.
💰 Budget Travelers
Look for happy hour deals at restaurants like STK and Jaleo. Utilizing the cheaper ATM in the Jockey Club lobby can save on fees. Booking directly and potentially during weekdays might offer better rates or upgrade possibilities, though the core experience of a terrace room is a worthwhile splurge if budget allows.
🥂 Couples & Romantic Getaways
Enjoy intimate cocktails at the Chandelier Bar or explore the hidden speakeasies for a unique date night. Consider a fine dining experience at STK Steakhouse or Bavette's (at nearby Park MGM). For a truly special occasion, the Wraparound Terrace Suites offer unparalleled luxury and views.

The Allure of Terrace Rooms
When booking, it's crucial to understand the different orientations. Rooms facing the Bellagio Fountains offer a direct view of the famous water show, while others might overlook the Strip or the hotel's pools. Some guests prefer rooms facing north to avoid the noise from the dayclubs, while others embrace the lively atmosphere. The textured glass on some balconies can slightly obscure views, so standing is often necessary for the best vantage point.
For those seeking the ultimate splurge, the Wraparound Terrace Suites offer unparalleled panoramic views and ample space, often including a full bar and dining area. These premium suites are a significant investment but provide an unforgettable luxury experience.
Uncovering The Cosmopolitan's Hidden Bars
Among the most popular is the Ski Lodge, themed as a cozy, albeit quirky, winter retreat, complete with a 'spiritual car wash' for a unique pre-drink ritual. Barbershop is another standout, hidden behind a functional barbershop, offering live music and a sophisticated vibe. For tequila lovers, Ghost Donkey provides a vibrant atmosphere, while Beauty & Essex has a hidden pawn shop entrance leading to its dining and bar area.
Finding these bars often involves a bit of exploration. For instance, the Ski Lodge is near Wicked Spoon, and Barbershop is accessible through a 'janitor's closet' door. These spots are perfect for those looking for a more curated and less conventional Las Vegas nightlife experience.
Culinary Delights at The Cosmopolitan
For a truly unique dining experience, Superfrico stands out. This Italian psychedelic restaurant combines delicious food with immersive live entertainment, creating a memorable 'dinner and a show' event. It's a place where the culinary and performance arts merge, offering a vibrant and unexpected evening.
Beyond these, The Cosmopolitan hosts acclaimed restaurants like STK Steakhouse for a modern steakhouse experience and Jaleo for Spanish tapas. For those seeking a more intimate or themed dining adventure, exploring the various bars and restaurants, including hidden gems, is highly recommended.
