"I used to love the Wedington area growing up. The Corp of Engineers "temporarily closed" facilities during covid and they havent been opened back up. It appears that someone is there for bare maintenance but the buildings are falling into disrepair and the whole place is pretty grown up. Unfortunately, the lake has had now work done and is really starting to have a lot of growth around the edges. The hiking trail around the lake is wonderful and one of my favorites. Tried fishing and caught more vegetation than fish."
