Reviews Summary

Visitors praise La Pointe Light for its beautiful lighthouse and the intriguing abandoned building, offering a unique historical glimpse. The adjacent beach is also a highlight for relaxation. However, the experience can be significantly marred by intense black fly swarms, particularly in early July, leading some to cut their visits short.

"Beautiful lighthouse! Very cool building that's next to it abandoned. Probably a lot of work to maintain with all of the lighthouses, but very cool history."

Glen Morris

"Always stop by beach at lighthouse, nice beach."

Bruce Morris

"We brought our family over from the Marina to spend the day here and we were not disappointed. Luckily the last week of June in 2020 the flies were not a problem. We came back 2 days later beginning of July and we got swarmed by a cloud of black flies like I have never seen before. Out Daughter was in tears and we loaded the boat back up and took off. If you visit have an alternative plan in case the bugs are bad. We have a power boat so we pulled right up on shore as the waves increased I ended up pulling the boat off the shore a little bit and setting the anchor it's very shallow worked out great"
