Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center for its impressive exhibits, stunning observation deck views, and engaging displays suitable for all ages. The free admission and helpful ranger advice are frequently highlighted as major positives. While some may wish for more dining options on-site, the availability of picnic areas and nearby restaurants in Ashland mitigates this.

"Really loved this new visitor center.....so much to see, read and learn. The mural is incredible....the color, the detail, the facial expressions....so we'll done! I spent house at this visitor center. They even had a little cooler with water and sodas in...for just a dollar. Thank you for being reasonable with a price for a quick refreshment."

Jacquelyn Dahlke (Jackie)

"This is really an impressive visitor center. It's a beautiful building with a nice exterior and nature trails. There are several displays, a movie, an interesting mural, and a lighthouse observatory deck. I appreciated the rangers advice on what trails to hike in the area. We took her advice and were very happy with the trails she suggested. It may have made the difference of us enjoying our vacation that much more."

Beverly K

"Very worthwhile stop. Many interactive and educational exhibits. All the kids, that we saw, were enjoying the displays. An elevator will take you to the top level but walk, if you can, to view the murals and nest on the way up. National Park stamps are available in the gift shop and date stamps for your parks passport are available at the service desk. Picnic tables are in the grass area out front. There is RV parking. We were there about 2 hours and could have taken longer inside plus time for the trails outside."
