What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Yellow Bluff Fort is a small, historically significant site offering a glimpse into Civil War defenses along the St. Johns River. Visitors appreciate the preserved earthworks and cannons, as well as the peaceful river views. However, some find the park's size and residential location to be limiting, suggesting it's best as a brief stop or combined with other attractions.
"The other reviews are completely on point. I also drove by. There's a very small parking area adjacent to a residential house and in a residential neighborhood.
There is a small marker commemorative monument, a park sign, and a few old cannons. That is the extent of the park outside of a short walk that looks around the park and leads back to the parking area.
I wouldn't drive all the way out there for this, but if you go to Dames Point Park down the street it's only a 3 minute drive and worth a stop."

"A Confederate earthworks designed and located by General Robert E. Lee as one of a series of forts for the defense of the Saint Johns River. This fort was occupied by both Confederate and Union forces during the course of the war and is today in its original state.

"Hopefully, they will continue to improve this spot. A bit of signage or even one sign directing you to a website with more info would be nice. Overall, the small park is as expected. I love the cannons they have set up, the small trail through and around the place and the picnic bench."
