"We thoroughly enjoyed taking a step back in time! The farmhouse is nicely set up, showing life "back in the day". The ladies working there are so sweet and ready to answer questions. We enjoyed feeding the sheep, and looking at the turkeys and chickens. The gift shop is adorable, and offers some good quality, old style games, as well as other gifts. We even got some fresh eggs! It's well worth visiting. They have activities throughout the year, so we'll definitely be back!"

A Glimpse into 19th Century Farm Life
The farm grounds themselves are designed to reflect this historical period. You'll find historic barn structures and other outbuildings that were essential to farm operations. The goal is to immerse visitors in the agricultural heritage of the Grape Vine Prairie, showcasing how farming was done over a century ago. This educational aspect is particularly appealing for families and history enthusiasts.
While the farm is a living history site, it also embraces modern engagement. They host various seasonal events throughout the year, such as the Fall Round-Up and Christmas celebrations, which add a festive layer to the historical experience. These events often include hands-on activities, making history come alive for all ages.
Family Fun and Animal Encounters
For the younger visitors, the $3 Dino Dig is a must-do activity. Children can channel their inner paleontologist as they unearth 'fossils,' providing an engaging and affordable entertainment option. This hands-on element is a hit with toddlers and young children, making the farm visit memorable.
Beyond the animals and the dig, the farm provides ample open space for kids to run around and explore. Many families appreciate the opportunity for a picnic, turning a visit into a relaxed day out. While some crafts might be geared towards older children, the overall environment is very welcoming for all ages, especially toddlers who enjoy the freedom to roam.
