As @simonjpierce and I began our first round of Photo-ID surveys at Wolf Rock recently, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane as to some of the best moments from the site in 2024. As we continue our work on the east Australian grey nurse shark (𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘴) population I'm looking forward to more of these moments with @wolfrockdive. Exciting announcement!💥 Here at the Wolf Rock we are really excited to announce that we are going to get a few boats from the much loved Brig Falcon range! We’re going to have 300s, 330s, 420s, and 500s. These ribs are fantastic so whether you’re looking for a tender rib or a great family rib these are great options. Reviews Summary

Visitors find Wolf Rock a rewarding hike with impressive geological formations and well-maintained trails. The moderate challenge and interesting rock features are highlights, though some note the potential for obstructed views and the need for caution regarding wildlife and the rocky terrain. Overall, it's considered a worthwhile stop for nature enthusiasts and hikers.

"Pretty cool hike with a neat rock formation at the end, as well as some cool geology along the way. The hike is definitely rocky on the steep parts but by no means for the entire time. I would definitely suggest a good pair of hiking boots or shoes and not just trying to do it in regular walking shoes. Everything is well marked and well maintained and generally a good experience. Has the signs will tell you, do be on the lookout for rattlesnakes at Wolf Rock. We went on a warm July afternoon so most of them are hiding under the rocks, but we did see this one guy hanging out right where everyone walked. He didn't care about any of us walking within a couple of feet however definitely watch your kids and where you stick your hands climbing over the rocks. I definitely wouldn't bring a dog or go poking around under the rocks."

"A moderate hike to a very large rock. This trail is mostly uphill and then eventually mostly downhill. The trail is dirt with large rocks and roots. The rock is huge and you can walk along it. There are lots of cracks and crevices you will need to jump/step over if you climb on the rock

I parked and started at the visitor center."

"Nice little quartzite rock formation in the midst of Cacoctin Mountain Park. It's not a long climb but a bit tricky as climbing up the zig-zag rocks is like a jigsaw puzzle. Be careful as there are deep crevices. But it is beautiful up there. It's so worth the climb. Take time to relax there before proceeding. You can do a loop covering chimney rock formation and back to the visitor's center. Don't miss visiting this section when you are in Cacoctin Mountain Park next time."
