What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Galveston Island Historic Trolley is praised for its incredibly low $1 fare and its ability to provide scenic tours of The Strand and Seawall, making it a budget-friendly option. However, some users report long wait times, inconsistent schedules, and occasional issues with driver interactions or missing signage at stops.
"The trolleys are nice to have for those of us who don’t have cars or don’t drive. The only problem is that they take forever (30 mins-an hour) and then when they finally come they rush you, there’s not bus signs at many of the stops or shade and some of the drivers are kind of rude and nonchalant. I was asking a driver a question and he told me to “hold on” so I asked the other passengers instead to ensure I was on the correct bus and they helped so when he finally was ready to help I told him I didn’t need it!!!! He tried to ask questions and I wouldn’t answer them cause I already asked!!! I see someone argue with a driver atleast once a day that a ride not kidding."

"The trolley was a great system to get around Galveston without the need to find parking. We were in between stops and could not walk any further and we waved a trolley down. They graciously stopped but explained it was confusing to the drivers behind us. We were able to get on and give our feet a break. I must add, we were there in December, so the traffic was probably a lot lighter than usual. Make sure you check their schedule and note that round trip is about 20 minutes in lighter traffic, not the 30 stated on the website. Thank you ladies for stopping on December 29th (Supervisor on board)."

"Came to Galveston hoping to ride the rails. They were Closed with only notice of closure due to private tour. Had just paid for parking (after finally finding a spot near entrance)and walked to only to end up losing out for expected 2hour parking fair (unrefundable)."
