What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors have mixed feelings about Valley Children's Stadium. While many praise the vibrant atmosphere for football games and the potential for major concerts, the stadium's age and design present challenges. Issues with accessibility, outdated facilities, and sometimes disorganized entry for large events are common complaints. However, the energy of the crowd and the thrill of the events are often highlighted as positives.
"The concert was great! But the way the entrance was organize was horrible, some people didn't even scan their tickets since the crew wasn't enough for the amount of people, the installation and sound was great too, so to be realistic the complain is more for the concert being understaff"
Mario Jaime
"This stadium is outdated and worn out. The entire stadium is difficult to access and exit. The sound system sucks and echos back from one end to the other. The bleacher seats are old and uncomfortable. The premium "red seats" are so old they are pink. Parking is horrible, especially for guests and the handicapped (you get bussed from the other side of campus). They tried a couple ADA type updates along the way that has just made the lower portion worse. Time for the wrecking ball and to start over. This stadium was a bad design from the start. No access to seats except from the top that you climb a huge steep hill or stairs to get up to, just to climb back down to your seats, or from the bottom that is overcrowded and badly organized and then you still climb up to your seats. The only option is all the way up or all the way down 50-60 rows. As usual there was a fight in the "no standing area" where lots of people were standing and drinking. When did jumbo beers become a good idea? Horrible experience. I'm surprised Valley Children's put their name on that piece of junk. What's happening with all the money FSU is making off the horribly planned commercial development on the east end of campus on Fresno State property??"

"Valley Children's Stadium in Fresno is a fantastic venue for sports fans! The 41,031-seat arena is home to Fresno State Bulldogs football and also hosts women's soccer and lacrosse games. The stadium is impressive, with plenty of seating and great sightlines from virtually every section.
One of the most convenient things about attending events here is the bus shuttle service from the university to the stadium. It makes getting there super easy and hassle-free, which is a big plus, especially on game days when parking can get crowded.
As for the game experience, the heat during the summer games can get pretty intense, but it only adds to the excitement! The atmosphere is vibrant, and the energy from the crowd makes for an unforgettable experience. Whether you're watching football, soccer, or lacrosse, there’s always something thrilling happening here.
The stadium is well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, Valley Children's Stadium is a great place to catch a game, and if you're in Fresno, it’s a must-visit for any sports fan. Highly recommend it!"

Navigating the Stadium Experience
Despite these critiques, the stadium offers a vibrant atmosphere, especially on game days. The energy of the crowd and the passion for the Bulldogs create an exciting environment. For concerts, the venue has proven capable of hosting large-scale events, drawing significant crowds and international artists. The key to a positive experience often lies in managing expectations and planning ahead, particularly regarding transportation and entry.
When attending, remember that Fresno's climate can be extreme. Summer games can be very hot, so staying hydrated is crucial. While the stadium has undergone some ADA updates, accessibility remains a concern for some. Ultimately, Valley Children's Stadium offers a distinct Fresno State experience, blending athletic passion with the challenges of an older venue.
Transportation and Parking Strategies
For those who prefer to drive, exploring parking options beyond the official stadium lots is recommended. Many attendees find success parking in nearby business lots, particularly on the east side of 6th street, which often offer significantly lower rates than stadium-controlled parking. This requires a bit more walking but can result in substantial savings. Regardless of your chosen method, planning your transportation in advance is key to a stress-free arrival and departure, especially for high-attendance events like football games or concerts.
Concert Experiences at the Stadium
However, large concert events can also present logistical challenges. Reports from concerts indicate that organization at the entrance can be problematic, with insufficient staff leading to potential issues with ticket scanning and crowd management. [^Review] Despite these organizational hiccups, the sound and installation for concerts have generally been praised, contributing to a positive overall experience for attendees who manage to get in smoothly. [^Review] For concertgoers, arriving early is strongly advised to navigate potential entry delays and fully enjoy the performance.
