I wasn’t planning on doing anything for the partial solar eclipse, but last minute I decided to go to @fresno_state’s Downing Planetarium for their presentation. Mostly I wanted the glasses, but I learned a lot from the professors who were showing off all the ways we could safely view the eclipse, including just looking at the tree’s shadow. Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Downing Planetarium's immersive dome shows and incredible value, with many praising the affordable ticket prices and the engaging post-show stargazing opportunities. While the educational content and friendly staff receive high marks, some guests have noted issues with internal temperature control during crowded events.

"Have you been to the planetarium? Last night I went to the planetarium at Fresno State for the first time and saw the Pink Floyd dark side of the moon show.
Really cool, I was really impressed with the atmosphere and sound quality. Very kid friendly and they have a great gift shop.
Definitely going to go back and see other shows. The best part…the price! Adults: $5.00, Seniors: $4.00, Children/Students: $3.00. Looks like they a cute show specifically for kids too.
Afterwards I got to go out to their telescope and see Jupiter and 4 of its moons… for free. They had a great docent out there showing us constellations with a very impressive laser."

Keille Torkelson

"Showed up for the Pink Floyd event 30 minutes early as it was stated on the website. As directed online that would be the only time to get tickets. When I got there I was notified that they were selling tickets all day so they were sold out. Seems unorganized to me. Because of misinformation on your website I missed the show. I could have just come earlier in the day like others and got a ticket early."

Martin Ortiz

"Went to the pink Floyd show last night it was so hot 🔥🥵 inside the building I thought I was going to have a heat stroke 😕 if they fix the a/c or have some kind of fans going it would have been enjoyable. Way too many people to have inside with no air going awful absolutely awful 😞"
