Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the spectacular Jordan Valley views, especially during fall. It's a beloved spot for family walks and offers rewarding, accessible hiking trails. Some minor overgrowth can slightly obscure views, and downed trees may be present after storms, but these are generally manageable.

"Great hike with great views of the Jordan Valley!

This has become one of our favorite Sunday morning walks with the kids, and it’s a trail we keep coming back to. The loop offers a great mix of scenery without being too physically demanding, which makes it a good option for families or anyone looking for a lighter hike that still feels rewarding.

We recommend hiking the loop counter-clockwise. By heading north out of the parking lot instead of west, you’ll start with the big descent down to the NCT intersection. It’s a smoother way to experience the trail and saves you from having to tackle that downhill at the end of your walk.

The views of the Jordan Valley are what really make this hike special. On clear days, you can see across the valley and take in some truly beautiful landscapes. It’s a reminder of just how much natural beauty is tucked into Northern Michigan.

As of now, there are still some downed trees from the ice storm, but nothing that makes the trail impassable. Most people should have no issue navigating around them. All in all, this is a lovely, accessible hike that we would highly recommend.

Get out and enjoy it!"

"Spectacular viewpoint. Incredible sunset view. Very short walk to the lookout point. Not much hikes or trails to explore. These pictures were taken in August 2025 and early October 2025."

Lindsay L.

"It is beautiful. A little difficult to see the full view as some smaller shrubs are overgrown.
And found a cute little mushroom.
Heard and seen very large animal. Looked to be a cougar but beautiful."
