Many appreciate the dog-friendly atmosphere and the peaceful escape it offers. However, some note that parking can be difficult on weekends and that certain trails can be challenging or overgrown.
"There's a decent amount of shade up one of the trails (sorry, can't remember which). The terrain was a mix of smooth and washed out pathway and the incline was moderate. The photo was from the top and there were a couple of other spots where you could see different parts of the park. There was ample parking right at the entrance and paid parking at the beginning of the trails. I got there at noon, but I would go earlier next time, only because a temperature of high 80's felt quite hot at that time."

"A good 5 mile, moderate for a Sunday morning hike was great. Had some nice views once you reach on the top. Few steep areas on the rerun but nothing too crazy. Have fun!
Btw, there’s also couple tar pit / oil oozing out."

"Can't get enough of that place. I love being out doors. The mountains are beautiful the sky was clear. Did not see anything or anyone. Bring water and sun protection. You will come across a lot of shade. Great place for a bike ride. Not a good place for small children. No flies today. I hiked into the park for one and a half hours today got some better pics. I think somewhere I took a wrong turn. I might of gone off the trail. Check out these new pictures I took. My goal is to climb to the very top of one of these huge mountain tops and take some pictures."
