What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Long Key Natural Area is praised as a well-maintained, compact natural gem in Broward County, offering diverse trails through oak hammocks and wetlands. Visitors appreciate its peaceful atmosphere, engaging nature center exhibits, and suitability for family strolls, though some note it's a smaller preserve.
"Long Key is one of the most exquiste and compact natural areas in Broward County. It has very well maintained, concrete walking trails ( with occasional benches) through majestic Live Oak canopy and over marsh. There are also more natural hiking paths as well as horse trails. There is always ample parking as well as a visitor center.
The land in this place has been continuously inhabited from at least 3000BCE and this park is a good place to connect with that resonance in nature."
Chana Wiesenthal Elias
"Good place to go out and walk! The trail isn't too long, but it's perfect for a stroll with a 2-year-old. The shaded areas make the walk comfortable, and the mix of paved and unpaved trails adds some variety. Plus, the park has a small exhibition center that's great for kids - they can explore and learn something new. And the small bridge over the lake is a lovely spot to observe the fish. Overall, a nice spot for a family!"

"I was married at Long Key Nature Center last year in May. The staff were so kind and helpful with all our questions and concerns, throughout the process of wedding planning and all. A lovely place for ceremony and the banquet hall was great also."
