What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Lake Gregory Regional Park for its serene mountain setting, calm lake waters perfect for paddleboarding and kayaking, and the scenic 4-mile loop trail with workout stations. It's considered a refreshing escape from the heat and a great spot for families and dog owners. Some find the food options limited and the bathrooms a bit of a walk from the swimming area.
"I went there the day after Labor Day this year and had the lake to myself.
They have kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards and power boats for rent.
The whole place was so serene and you could hear nature all around you without motors or other distractions.
For parking, I recommend getting the app that they link on their permit to purchase time. I needed to add more time and it was easy to do it from the kayak instead of going to the parking lot.
The park is well kept and they have plenty of activities for you to do even when the water park attractions are closed.
Enjoy nature. 🌲"

"I absolutely love this lake and it’s become one of my favorite getaways. One of the best things about it is the trail that loops around the entire lake, complete with workout stations along the way. There’s nothing better than stopping mid-hike to get in some pull-ups or a quick stretch while taking in the lake views.
I also love coming here to paddle board. The water is usually super calm, which makes it perfect for a relaxing paddle or even a picnic on the board. There aren’t many motorized boats around, maybe just one or two small ones at most, so it always feels peaceful and safe.
There are lots of people fishing, too, which gives the whole place a laid-back, friendly vibe. And when the summer heat kicks in down in Riverside, this lake feels like the perfect escape. It’s cooler, breezier, and feels like a mini retreat just a short drive away.
If you’re looking for a spot to work out, paddle board, or just unwind in nature, this lake is definitely worth a visit!"

"We had a great time at Lake Gregory with friends. We arrive around 9am to get parking in the main lot and get in line. When the gate opened we were in a good position to place our tent in a prime spot. Since we were meeting friends, we connected two tents for everyone (about 30 people).
We headed straight for the water course. Those who get in early before max capacity is reached don’t have to wait in line and they get to stay out longer. As the park reaches full capacity, they make the overflow wait in line and limit sessions to 30 minutes.
One word of caution. If you are an adult, it doesn’t take much to launch your child (see video). My child won the belly flop contest, but was comforted by the cool video our friend took.
Food is edible, they run out of ice cream flavors early and bathrooms are a longish walk from the swimming area. There is a slick of sunscreen on the water from all the bodies in there’s
This is not the place to go for a quiet, pristine beach day. This is a fun place for kids and groups!"
