What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Dockery Lake Recreation Area for its peaceful, off-grid camping experience and beautiful natural surroundings. The trout lake hike is a hit, and the limited cell service is seen as a major plus for a digital detox. Some note that direct lake access from campsites is limited and fishing can be slow, but overall, it's a highly recommended spot for a quiet getaway.
"Site 5 reviews... Lake view, but not really lake accessible for a kayak. The walking trail is in between the campsites and the lake. Small enough and everyone was friendly enough it wasn't a big deal, but worth noting. Im posting this from the site as TMobile service works great. There's 2 tent pads at the site and lots of space. Toilets were a short walk and well maintained. Great getaway."

"Great hidden gem. Small campground with good sized tent sites mixed in with some picnic areas. 3.5 miles from the lake to the AT.
Campsites are on or across the road from the loop trail. If you are on the lake, you are on the trail.
Near zero cell service once you turn into the road which made for a delightful tech break!
Water in at least summer at every site cluster and fire pit with a cooking grate."

"Such an awesome little campground! We brought our two furbabies here for their very first camping trip and we were not disappointed.
There were no envelopes to leave our fee for our campsite but we ran to a nearby gas station and I bought an envelope to make sure we left our fee.
The trout lake was a really nice short hike for the pups!
You can fit a pop-up camper in certain campsites, plenty of space and privacy from the other campsites."
