What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Chevelon Canyon Lake is praised for its stunning, secluded beauty and excellent trout fishing, offering a peaceful escape. However, the challenging, rough road access and strenuous hike in and out are significant drawbacks for many visitors, requiring careful preparation and the right vehicle.
"This is a beautiful area and even though it’s a bit remote, it’s worth it. It’s quiet, scenic and there are a few good options of things to do. I camped in the fall and only saw a few people come in for day. I relaxed and fished and did some hiking. I hope to go back again."

"Very long bumpy dirt road to get here high clearance needed especially as you get closer.
A mile hike in and out, not that easy carrying a paddle board or kayak.
The out is uphill.
It was definitely worth it
Only a few people there where we hiked in. But when we kayaked and paddle boarded out of that immediate area, we had the entire rest of the lake to ourselves.... not one other person on the other two sides of the lake, beautiful grassy Forest Area to hop out and take a nice break."

"What can you say but WOW what a beautiful lake, the way down and up is horrible , but we did find a back way in on our quads. Excellent fishing for trout not sure of other fish. Beautiful place to spend the day! Highly recommend but be prepared for the hike it is bad, we even chauffeur a couple people on our quads because they were having problems getting back up the hill. Not even sure if we were supposed to have our quads there lol."
