Visitors consistently praise the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center for its engaging shows and interactive exhibits that delight both children and adults. The knowledgeable staff and the center's historical significance, particularly its role in astronaut training, are frequently highlighted as major draws. While parking can be a challenge during busy periods, the overall experience is highly recommended for its educational value and fun factor.
"I’ve been a Morehead member for several years and my child has attended the camps there for several years also. She has liked the shows and the evolution of the interactive areas of the museum. I will say it’s been nice to see they changed the interactive areas a couple years ago but hope they continue to do every couple years, along with rotating in new shows as well. With the camps, it feels as if they have continued to evolve and grow over the years. My child has enjoyed the camps and shares feedback that they have been getting better over the years as well, including unique projects and time spent working together. Finally, having a Morehead membership allows for reciprocal discounts at other museums, including places like the Field Museum in Chicago. Would highly recommend."
