Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the unique and massive sand dunes, calling Bruneau Dunes a 'cool and massive' natural wonder. The opportunity for sandboarding and climbing the tallest dune is a major draw, offering a fun and challenging experience. The park's observatory for stargazing and the chance to see wildlife like pronghorn are also highly praised. However, be prepared for intense heat during midday and swarming mosquitoes at sunset.

"Nice state park with really cool and massive sand dunes. The campground was nice and close enough to take a short hike to climb the dunes. The visitor center offer sleds and boards for rent to slide down the dunes. Heard coyotes at night and saw a pronghorn near the campground. Also saw a gopher snake that was not aggressive at all. Definitely be prepared for mosquitoes becuase they came out in force as soon as the sun set."

The East Coast Yeti

"A unique part of Idaho. This State Park was a short ride off the main road and it cost 7.00 to enter. They offer impressive massive sand dunes, two camp sites and at the visitor center you can the rent sleds and sand boards to use on the sand dunes. We were told that they don’t rent these if temperatures are too high. We only went for the day, but at night we were told that it is perfect for star gazing.

We were lucky to have cardboard with us so we used that as sand boards. The Ranger at the visitor center was knowledgeable and very friendly. We went in the middle of the day so the sand can be very hot. We enjoyed sitting at the top and enjoying the view of the picturesque lake.

This was a very clean State Park and it was a lot of fun to visit."

Maria Pellini

"This park was much better than expected. It was well kept and offered some great sunset views. It was so fun to hike up the dunes and watch the sunset. If you are in the area I highly recommend checking it out atleast once."
