Walking the battlefield trail was a great way to learn about the battle—the well-placed informational signage really helps you imagine how the events unfolded. "Great little history stop along 1-85. Driven by here many, many times...finally took a day to go see it. Nice little museum, with a historychannel.com documentary which gives great context and explanation. The 1.5 mile loop around the site is a groomed pathway, though it is rather hilly, so be aware. No special shoes/hiking gear necessary, but lots of up and down. Friendly staff, and a decent gift shop. Talked to the Ranger - nice guy, engaged, proactive, and helpful."

"Military park honoring those that fought in the Revolutionary War battle of Kings Mountain between patriots and loyalist Tories. The grounds are very well kept. There is an easy 1.5 mile hike to the battlefield area. We also watched a musket demonstration by one of the reinactors. Visitor center has a small museum and you can watch a film on the battle. Visitor center personnel were very friendly and helpful. If you are interested in American history, check it out."
