"What a special and wonderful museum! Ive been coming here since I was a child and now I get to bring my son and daughter and show them the same beautiful wonders that I grew up with. We recently enjoyed a day at their Catawba historical village setup with volunteers who were very kind and were super great with answering our questions and telling us cool facts! The gem mine and mill is so cool and it’s peaceful and nice to just hangout around the creek and look at the water. The trails are super fun for my children and a great way to spend the day! So grateful for this place and its employees, it always has great exhibitions that keep us coming back for more :)"

"Free days are on the second Tuesday of every month. It is very fun. My favorite exhibits are the scenes and the opossum. The fungi section is cool too. I would really recommend going there. I hate that they got rid of the firefighter section and made it a theater, tho."
