"My brother and I had an amazing visit to King’s Landing. Launching our own paddle boards was super simple and quick. We first set off down Emerald Cut before paddling the other direction toward Wekiwa. Along the way, we saw alligators, a deer, an otter, and tons of turtles.

We camped Saturday night and attended the floating fire pit, which ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Renee was extremely kind, friendly, and welcoming. She shared great stories about the river and even put on an incredible light show in the water."

Paddling Options: Shuttle Run vs. Day Paddle

Kings Landing offers flexibility for exploring Rock Springs Run, primarily through two popular paddling options: the 'Shuttle Run' and a self-guided day paddle. The 'Shuttle Run' is an 8.5 to 10.5-mile journey from Kings Landing downstream to Wekiva Island, encompassing the iconic Emerald Cut. This option requires pre-booking and typically involves arranging transportation back from Wekiva Island. It's a full-day adventure for those wanting to cover significant ground and experience the entire run. Instagram+1

Alternatively, visitors can opt for a shorter, self-guided day paddle, launching from Kings Landing and exploring sections of the run at their own pace. This is ideal for those who prefer a more relaxed outing or have less time. You can paddle upstream towards the spring head or explore downstream for a few hours before returning to Kings Landing. This allows for more time to enjoy specific spots, wildlife viewing, or simply relax on the water. Instagram

Both options provide access to the stunningly clear waters and natural beauty of Rock Springs Run. The choice depends on your desired level of exertion, time commitment, and whether you want to experience the full length of the river or a more focused exploration. Instagram
