While the caves are closed for safety, the surrounding coastal path offers breathtaking views and a glimpse into the area's quarrying past. "Interesting addition to the rugged and, naturally beautiful landscape. The caves closed to the public in 1976 due to a collapse however, one can get close enough to take some pictures and, admire excavation etc. A mysterious looking staircase winds down to an entrance from the Coastal Path with some text to read."

"Tilly Whim Caves are closed for the public, but you can see the openings in the rocks and you can read about their interesting history. They are part of a gorgeous hike you can take from Swanage and Durlston Castle towards the lighthouse or the dancing ledge."

"Im surprised i am the first person to enter a review on the mine.It used to be a mine and there is an information board at the site telling you about the history. It was closed many years ago and as you will see the "hole in the ground" is securely fenced off.A short way along the cliff path is the mine"s opening for access to the cliff. The stone was collected by ship.I've read a story about someone being killed in a rock fall here when she entered the "cave" and you can ignore the warnings and climb the wall but it isn't safe. You can visit Winspit, further along the coast.Lots of "caves" and apparently safe.I've been there and it was popular with walkers, climbers and the curious."
