What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Swinsty Reservoir for its beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for walks with family and friends. The circular routes are enjoyable and not overly challenging. Some reviewers noted confusion with the new parking ticket system and expressed concerns about reservoir swimming safety, despite its clean appearance.
"Drove up from Leeds to visit this place my parents recommended. We did a lovely walk around Swinsty reservoir, took us about an hour and a half at a leisurely walk to complete it, nothing too challenging and provided quite the scenic views.
Definitely worth a visit when the weather is good like we had, plenty of wind to cool you down in areas with opportunity to walk further around Fewston (on our to-do list). Be cautious of the parking ticket system which confused us and a few on arrival, there are ticket machines (as of writing)!
Had a peek into the old (and still used?) pump house which looked amazing, worth a peep inside the windows if you get the chance!"
Harrison Barber-Scargill
"Beautiful, clean and relaxing place. Great circular walk around the reservoir, that can be enjoyed with friends and family."
Travelling Lady
"Great for swimming.
Thanks so much Yorkshire Water for polluting our rivers and seas leaving reservoirs the only clean, safe places to swim and filling peoples heads with nonsense about how dangerous it is 😃👍"
