Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise St. Peter's Basilica for its breathtaking beauty, immense scale, and profound historical and spiritual significance. The art and architecture are frequently highlighted as awe-inspiring. However, the overwhelming crowds and the strict dress code can be challenging for some.

"Beautiful historical site. you can have the tour, surrounded by greenery where one can enjoy the afternoon picnic or quiet time alone. Allow yourself enough time to walk around the grounds"

Lady Tanya Larsen

"Amazing and beautiful Church and Church grounds. Everything about this Church is wonderful, pretty and peaceful. Wonderful place to pray or to visit for a trip. The grounds are well kept and looked after and the inside is stunning, pure beautiful Church. It is open i think most days so you really should pay this place a visit as you won't be disappointed. The Grounds have many old graves and there is also a garden of hope which looks beautiful also. Some lovely big old tress in here that look large and lovely."

ONwoods Upwoods

"It is believed that the original Anglo-Saxon church, which would have been made of wood, was founded here around AD 948. This church, together with St Stephen's and St Michael's churches, was built at about that time to receive pilgrims and to prepare them for their visit to the shrine of St Alban within what is now St Albans Abbey. These three churches stand on the three main roads into St Albans.

Whilst nothing remains of the original wooden structure, the church assumed its current form during the 13th century, with subsequent changes being necessary through rebuilding to address structural instability.

The current church is beautifully proportioned and lovingly maintained. Trees consume ancient shrines in the lovely grounds which, themselves, have a lovely, peaceful feel to them."
