"Sopwell Nunnery is this is scheduled monument site dating back to the 12th century.

This ruins is all that remains of the Tudor mansion known as Lee Hall that was built around 1560 by Sir Richard Lee.

Richard Lee built his mansion on top of the medieval nunnery, which itself dated back to 1140. Although, the ruins are still known as Sopwell Nunnery, you only will see Sir Richard's Lee mension ruins there.
Still pretty impressive though.

The ruins located not far from St Albans city center in Hertfordshire, where we saw lots of interesting characters buildings too!

Also, if you are doing Very Valley walk and love historical places, it is worth to visit the ruins too!

The place wasn't very crowded on our visit, so we have managed to take great shots. 😊👌

Nice place to have picnic too!

We definitely recommend it!"
