Essentially the town was based upon its spa and the Georgian noblemen who took the waters. The majority of architecture is George 11V William 1V. but there are also some substantial Victorian villas There is a large surface car park nearby. The Duke of York pub serves excellent fare. Don’t deny yourselves the opportunity to visit this haven of beauty that personifies the best of England. A short walk away takes you to the opera house that JD Wetherspoon have made into a pub without destroying any of the previous infrastructure and furnishings"
