"Lovely old church with Norman sections, I greatly advise booking a tour of the bone crypt before you come, the info on how is available on their site.
We went down into the bone crypt and it was fascinating."

"One time pilgrimage destination, now much reduced in size, Rothwell's bone crypt is a rare example today of something that would have been much more commonplace in the past. With the remains of many hundreds of people displayed for visitors past - and present - to see, it reminds of how people can look at similar things and relate to them in so many different ways. What today might seem creepy, was in its day something much more about connection to ancestors, to reflecting on mortality and community. The bone crypt is only open at certain times and tours are available. There's lots else to see in the church too. Parking close to the church is limited."
Lindsey Ambrose
"I took my daughter to sunbeams on Thursday. Its a childrens playgroup, free entry and free tea or coffee for the adults and a soft drink for the children. They have toys and activities for the children. Everyone there is friendly and welcoming, would highly recommend it for mothers especially, as its mostly women who attend."
