What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mowsbury Hillfort and Park is a highly-rated hidden gem offering stunning panoramic views and a peaceful escape. Visitors praise its historical significance and natural beauty, though some note that paths in the wooded areas can be confusing and less accessible.
"I nice place to have a quiet walk, away from everything, confusing paths in the wooded area, only really suitable for able bodied folks, Putnoe woods below offers paths through woodlands suitable for all. Good views of the surrounding countryside."

"I have live within 2 miles of this place for about 17 years & 6 miles most of my life, I retired this year & discovered it 2 weeks ago then visited today. How could I miss this on my own doorstep. Not enough is done to promote it. I was staggered by the great scenery, 360 degree views plus woodland. I saw Bedford through new eyes today, it's a must do. Bedford council need to promote these free to visit sights better. After all they will get more tourist should the Universal Studios go through as requested."

"This nature reserve is a hidden gem on the outskirts of Bedford. Access is by walking through the Mowsbury golf course car park and then through a gate to the left of the driving range. If you turn left straight through the gate and walk up the left hand side of a large open space you'll come to an information board that tells you all you need to know about the reserve. A great view over Brickhill and Putnoe can be had from the top of the open space that also overlooks the driving range. Now that we've found it, we'll be back through the seasons to see how the flora and fauna changes throughout the year."
