Reviews Summary

Visitors find Pooh Sticks Bridge a charming and magical spot, especially for Winnie the Pooh fans. The walk through the beautiful 100 Acre Wood is a highlight, offering a peaceful escape and opportunities to spot wildlife. However, some find the bridge itself a bit underwhelming, and accessibility can be a concern on steeper paths.

"We visited the Pooh Sticks Bridge walk and overall had a lovely time, but there are a few things worth noting for wheelchair users. The route took us around 60 minutes while pushing a manual wheelchair. Google listed the walk as accessible, and technically it is, but some sections—especially the steep hills on the way back—were challenging and required a lot of effort.

The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Along the way we spotted piglets, passed little owl houses, saw the famous tree with the balloon, and of course enjoyed the charm of the bridge itself. It’s a really magical place with plenty to see.

From the car park, however, the entrance to the walk could be improved. There are two barriers: one we had to duck underneath and the other was extremely tight for a wheelchair. Making these more accessible would make a big difference for visitors with mobility needs.

Overall, a lovely and memorable walk, but definitely be prepared for some harder pushes if you’re navigating with a manual wheelchair."

"We went to Pooh Bridge in the Ashdown Forest (100 Acre Wood) with The Duchess and I have to say it was a beautiful walk but the bridge itself is underwhelming. It just has a small sign and that’s how you know what it is. Some people really make an effort to dress up like one of the characters which is great to see 🙌🏻."

Sarah Winter

"Taken at face value this route already provides a pleasant (and relatively easy) walk through the woods along a well maintained track. Look out for the wildlife on the way as well as the numerous references to characters from the books that made the bridge famous.
The bridge itself is a sturdily built wooden construction that lends itself well to safely supporting the numerous games of poohsticks that take place on a daily basis. Arm yourself with a suitable fallen stick in advance and enjoy this same timeless activity with your own friends and family.
A nice walk in it's own right, with an added dimension of literary interest which elevates it further up any local to do list."
