"Canal and parking on your left as you drive in, with a cafe and children's play area. Canoe club and the a large field for campers. Around to your right is the main car park and at the end is the entrance to the Woods. Great safe walk with kiddies / dogs. Not suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Lots of areas to explore. The army do train here so be careful of the soldiers if your dog is nervous of the gunfire. Sometimes they just do the orienteering but one of them hiding under a bush might make you jump!!
Lovely views higher up (go straight on when you enter the main gate). Or turn left and you can make your way down to a part of the canal that is clean enough for a paddle."

"We're staying on the campsite, which is right beside the Basingstoke Canal. It's a lovely campsite, the facilities aren't brilliant, having said that, there is fresh water on tap, an Elsan disposal point, toilets and a shower, no electric hook up. The Canal cafe is great for a breakfast, or a sandwich for lunch, the usual beverages, ice cream, soft drinks. For us a great place for a stop over"
